Some may think when it comes to working out that getting great results only comes from lifting heavy weights, but that’s not necessarily the case. You can easily challenge yourself in a resistance band workout without requiring much equipment or space. It is, however, a good idea to have a trained professional guide you through each workout move in order to make sure you’re performing the exercise properly. That way, you’re reaping the most benefit from each workout and safely practicing injury prevention.
Speaking of workout guidance, let’s take iFit® for example. This one of a kind virtual training program has world-renowned professional trainers and Olympic athletes available to you for your own personal training from a simple touch of a button. Also known as iFit trainers, they create their very own workout programs based upon their own professional knowledge and experience to ensure you get a great workout whenever you desire.
As you will see below, iFit trainer Casey Gilbert takes you through a challenging, full-body resistance band workout you can do at home. You won’t need much space or equipment for Gilbert’s at-home workout––you just have to get up and move.
“We’re off the couch. We’re working out. Feeling good. Getting hyped up. My favorite part about getting that blood pumping is that rush of energy to the brain. You start feeling good, you know we’re doing something positive with our day. Even if it’s only one workout. That’s just more than enough. It’s going to fire you up.”
Casey Gilbert, iFit Trainer
The type of resistance bands you will need for this workout are one heavy loop band and one super loop band, depending on your strength level.
“But why resistance bands?” you ask. Resistance bands are cheap to purchase, easy to travel with, yet so effective in giving you a great workout––it comes as no surprise they are an exercise favorite. Also, there are many ways to use resistance bands in every workout you do. Use them for a full-body workout, in between drop sets, or you can even use them as a finisher to exhaust your muscles at the end of your workout.
Without further ado, here is Casey Gilbert’s full-body resistance band workout:
